A common question we get asked is, are biometric locks reliable? Most are not but Verifi Smart Safes are different. The Verifi Smart Safe S4000 Quick Access Biometric Handgun Safe features the largest and only FBI certified fingerprint sensor in any handgun safe on the market. This is why most less expensive handgun safes typically have a backup keypad for when the sensors don't work. Verifi Smart Safes are built different.
The technology behind the Verifi Smart Safe S4000 Quick Access Biometric Handgun Safe utilizes the same large area, capacitive fingerprint sensing technology used by the United States Government. The TouchChip sensor reads fingerprints at a high resolution of 508 dpi. This helps to capture more of the minute details in a fingerprint and enhances the performance of the recognition system. With better recognition comes faster opening of your safe. When you need to access your firearm in an emergency, every second counts. The Verifi fingerprint scanners are designed to work the first time. No more scanning your fingerprint multiple times and not being able to get into your safe.
Another great feature on the Verifi Smart Safe S4000 Quick Access Biometric Safe is the self-diagnostics. Every 24 hours after each use, the Verifi Smart Safes will perform automatically a set of thorough diagnostic tests on the batteries, fingerprint sensor and locking mechanism. Some questions the safe will ask are about your battery health and how much his left, are there any issues with the fingerprint sensor, is there any issue with the internal locking mechanism? If there happens to be an issue, the safe will alert you with both audible and visual alerts.
The Verifi S4000 Smart Safe uses 4 AA batteries with both picoPower and Boost technologies. This allows for low power consumption while still maintaining cutting edge performance. The boost performance makes sure that the LCD brightness and motor speed remain constant even when the batteries are almost dead. The low battery alert can be set to alert you that the batteries are low and they need to be changed. You can snooze this alert for up to 3 days so you don't need to worry about it keeping you up at night.
There are other alerts on the Verifi Smart Safe including an open door alert. If you forget to close your door, this could lead to problems, especially if a firearm is stored inside and could be found by a child. The sensors on the door detect if it remains open and will alert you with an audible sound if this happens. Tamper alerts make sure that any unauthorized users are not trying their fingerprint on your safe. If this happens, it will trigger an alert so that you are kept informed when you are not around.
High-security keys are included with each Verifi S4000 Quick Access Biometric Handgun Safe. These are for backup access through a key slot hidden behind the logo plate. If the backup key is used, the Verifi Smart Safe will log an alert so you know if it happened without your approval. There are many safes on the market that have a design flaw where someone can press the internal reset button from outside the safe. The Verifi Smart Safes are too "smart" for this and will reject these attacks. The only way to reset the safe is with a fingerprint from a registered administrator.
The door on the Verifi Smart Safe S4000 will automatically lock. All you need to do is close the door. With the AutoLock feature, once the door is closed, it will lock. No more worrying about if you forgot to lock your safe. This feature can be disabled if you prefer via the settings menu.
Many safes have lights that will drain your batteries quickly. The Verifi Smart Safe S4000 has interior lighting that won't drain your batteries. The LED lighting system can be varied in intensity and duration without messing with the battery life. When set to Nite-Lite+ intensity, the LED inside will provide enough soft, indirect light to illuminate your safe's contents without causing night blindness. If you need more light, just hold the start button on the front of the safe and release it until it reaches your desired intensity.
When set to Nite-Lite+ intensity, the LED will provide just enough soft, indirect light to illuminate your safe’s contents without causing night blindness, which can be dangerous in a middle-of-the-night emergency. But if you find yourself needing more light, just hold the start button on the front of the safe and release it when it has reach your desired intensity.
Changing the settings on the Verifi S4000 are easy to do. You can easily add and remove users, customize user names, change lighting settings, view access logs, check your battery level and more. All of this can be done by the Verifi Smart Safe's LCD screen.
Inside the safe is a carpeted interior. The carpet is soft, black carpeting to protect all of your valuables and weapons from scratches. This safe is also listed on the California Department of Justice Roster of Approved Firearm Safety Devices. The access logs show which users opened/closed the safe and when. The Event logs show previous alerts, alarms, diagnostic results and more. The last 1,000 logs of each type of access or event are stored and viewable only by a registered administrator.
The solid steel construction on the Verifi Smart Safe S4000 features thick 8 gauge steel on the door and 14 gauge steel in the body. The concealed hinges and a recessed door will help prevent pry-attacks. There are 2 pre-drilled mounting holes on the bottom of the safe to secure to a solid surface. The mounting hardware is included.
